Iranian short ‘Retouch’ to head to Skepto Int’l filmfest

Iranian short film ‘Retouch’ is to go on screen at the 9th Skepto Int’l Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian acclaimed short film ‘Retouch’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 9th edition of the Skepto International Film Festival in Italy.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, the Iranian short film will be screened at Stile Libero section of the Italian event.

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

The film has so far participated in many international film festivals, winning several awards and nominations.

It has previously won Best Short Film awards at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, all in the US.

The most recent awards grabbed by ‘Retouch’ are the Best Fiction Film award at the Short Movie Club in Belarus, the Best International Short award at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival in Ireland, and the top prize for best short film as well as the audience choice award at the Ibn Arabi International Film Festival in Spain.

‘I Love You’, another Iranian short film, will also go on the silver screen at Best Short Film Finalist section of the 9th Skepto.

The Skepto International Film Festival has a competitive nature and it is open to short movies with no limits as to their subject, style or production budget.

It admits short films of all kinds, including documentaries, musical video-clips, video-arts, experimental short movies, fake trailers, new media formats, mobile videos, and so on.

The festival’s official website has announced that the jury has received more than 600 movies, with a wide range of genres, styles, themes and production budget.

Among the submission from 47 countries, there are many films awarded in other important international film festivals.

The main competitive section is Short (all movies up to 20 minutes), but there will be special mentions and awards as well.

The 9th edition of the Skepto International Film Festival is slated for April 18-21, 2018, in Cagliari, Italy.
